Your estate plan is a personalized account of what you want to happen when you die, as well as what needs to happen if you can’t make decisions. You have to think about a variety of issues when you are making your estate plan so that you can determine what to include in this plan.

We understand that you might not be comfortable thinking about all of the questions that are likely going to come up. We are here to help make the process as easy as possible.

Some of the things that you need to think about include:

  • Who will make medical decisions for you?
  • What kinds of medical care do you want to decline?
  • What interventions are you comfortable with?
  • Who is going to make financial decisions for you?
  • Who is going to get part of your assets when you die?
  • How do you want those assets split up?
  • Do you have a guardian in place for minor children?
  • What is going to happen with your small business?

All of these questions have an important point in the estate planning process. Take the time to consider each one carefully so that your estate plan will reflect your wishes and plans. The estate plan is more than just a will. It can include other documents that you find are necessary to lay out your wishes.
