Laila Khalil, Esq. is an Associate at Rice Elder Law.  Laila graduated from the University of Arizona in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy, and went on to earn a Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from the Seattle University School of Law in 2015.  Laila is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York. During law school, Laila was a Mary Ellen Krug Fellow while working with the Attorney General's Office of Washington State as part of the University of Washington Division as well as the Labor and Industries Division in Seattle, Washington.

Laila focuses her practice in the areas of Wills, Trusts, and Estates, planning for persons with disabilities, and persons in need of home health, assisted living, and nursing home care.

Laila began her legal career working alongside long-term care union members where she negotiated collective bargaining agreements on behalf of nursing home providers as well as individual care providers. It was there that she first learned about long-term care advocacy and expanding state Medicaid funding mechanisms. Her advocacy work inspired her to learn more about Elder Law in an effort to help guide elderly individuals and their families through the long-term care maze.

When she is not advocating on behalf of her clients, Laila loves spending time with her family and friends. She is an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and especially loves to play basketball, football and softball in her spare time.
